Karin VanZant has a BA Social Work/LSW from Wright State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Wright State University with an anticipated graduation date of jUNE 2008. Her experience with social services represents three years in Administration at the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies, five years as Licensed Social Worker and Co-Director for a Workforce Investment Act Alternative High School for at-risk teens. In the thirteen years that she has worked for Community Action, she has gained extensive experience with low-income and at-risk populations. Her skills include: grant proposal writing, grant management (over $750k) federal/state/local, participatory strategic planning, training and curriculum development (nonprofit board, outcomes, fiscal mgmt, grant writing, case mgmt, family development). As well as the direct service and administrative service she also holds training certifications for: Family Development Specialists, Within My Reach (marriage curriculum for low-income families), Bridges Out of Poverty/Getting Ahead, TOPS-participatory strategic planning and group facilitation, Outcome Mgmt, Missouri Community Action Poverty Simulation, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People/Teens. Karin is a lifelong resident of Clark County and is active on nonprofit Boards including Habitat for Humanity and the Clark County Literacy Coalition. Karin lives with her husband of 13 years Nathan, also a lifelong resident and 12 year old son Jeffrey.

Marlo Fox has a BA in Social Work from Anderson University. She has nine years experience as a Workforce Development Program Director and Administration duties with the local Community Action Agency. Marlo’s experience and skills include: eleven years direct experience with low income and at-risk populations at the local Community Action Agency as program director for multi-faceted, $500,000 contract with local Department of Job & Family Services, she has been a supervisor of over nine staff and handled extensive transitions in funding and eligibility requirements for TANF. Her training Certifications include: Bridges Out of Poverty and Getting Ahead. Marlo is a life-long resident of Clark Co, very active on local boards including The Marriage Resource Center, Nehemiah Foundation Advisory Committee and Springfield Christian Youth Ministries. Both she and her husband of 10 years are active on community projects and both volunteer with church activities and functions

Ellen Waild has a Master’s Degree in Education from the State University of New York and nine years of classroom and twenty-one years of social service administration work. Her experience and skills include: Director of Operations for 11 years at the local Community Action Agency, twenty-one years experience with low income and at-risk populations, sixteen years of program administration, organizational planning, staff and program supervision, proposal writing, contract and grant management ($1million+). Her training certifications include: Outcome Management, Bridges Out of Poverty/Getting Ahead, TOPS – participatory strategic planning and group facilitation, Family Development, and Grant Proposal Writing. Ellen is a twenty-one year of Clark County and active on several boards including Clark County Literacy Coalition, Leadership Clark County, and McKinley Hall Drug/Alcohol Services. She has been a part of many community initiatives and sits on several boards at her church. Ellen lives in Clark County with her husband of 33 years Frank. She has two grown children.

Heather Seelig has six years experience as a case manager and shelter director of the local domestic violence agency. She has supervised women and children in an emergency 16-bed shelter, was responsible for supervising and training all of the 11 shelter staff. Heather has managed permanent housing programs, worked with HUD funding on several projects, is competent in handling all reports for funding and has supervised maintenance of the facilities. Heather is currently assisting her community in evaluating the needs for a local domestic violence and transitional housing facility. It is her dream to one day open and operate a domestic violence shelter. Heather and her 8-year-old son live in Urbana, Ohio.
